Citizens of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg head to the polls to decide whether to reelect Prime Minister Jean-Claude Juncker, after he called a snap election in light of a spying scandal that forced him to resign from the post.

From Wort.lu/en:

With nearly 70 percent of votes in Luxembourg’s centre district counted, projections are in and the trend continues with the CSV losing votes and the DP gaining.

The CSV is the Christian Social People’s Party, headed by the current Prime Minister Jean-Claude Juncker, and the DP is the the Democratic Party. Juncker is expected to win reelection, but polls predict his party will lose three seats in parliament.

With 90 percent of the vote counted in the South, early projections show that CSV has so far lost one seat in that region, which DP will gain.

The previous government consisted of a coalition between the CSV and the Luxembourg Socialist Workers’ Party. Juncker has expressed interest in forming another coalition government.
